Dear Fellow Cyclist,

It’s that time when many of us start looking for this year’s challenges and I hope you may be interested in an early season short distance challenge?

The Brian Robinson Challenge is a tribute to Britain & Yorkshire’s first Tour de France stage winner who at 86 is still managing to get out on his bike, and is usually on hand to help riders on his event.

Good news already is that for all his achievements as a cycling pioneer and supporting charities Brian was recognised with the honour of a British Empire Medal in the New Year’s list

The event continues along the same successful lines as in previous years but slightly later in the year, on Sunday 7th May, due to the Tour de Yorkshire coming through the area on our previous date of the last Sunday in April.

We are again based at the Huddersfield New College with all its facilities and have a great prize of 6 free altitude chamber training places for the team who enter the most riders

As before entry is online, https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/…/Brian-Robinson-BEM-Chal…

Our website is at , http://www.brcr.co.uk/

and to chat to other riders you can join the facebook grouphttps://www.facebook.com/groups/144910920437/

The profits from the event are split between a number of charities and causes with the principal beneficiary being Marie Curie , which I am sure we all recognise as very worthy

Safe riding and see you in May

Regards

martyn
